The Journey of Little Brother Egypt and Big Brother Andrew

Egypt and Andrew’s story began one year ago, August 2023. Since then, they have formed a remarkable bond. Egypt's mother has noticed significant positive changes, stating,

“The benefits I see from the match are compassion and admiration for their relationship as brothers and the excitement that Egypt has when Andrew arrives to partake in different activities.”

They like to spend their time together engaging in activities, such as sports, hiking, and attending BBBS events together. From trips to the pool and park to exciting visits to the arcade, Egypt enjoys every moment spent with Andrew.

Community Engagement and Events

Throughout their year together, Egypt and Andrew have also attended various BBBS events, including basketball games, BBBS Annual Spring Hike, and our annual Fall Fair. A highlight of the Fall Fair was Andrew's participation in our fundraising dunk tank, a testament to his commitment to the cause and to having fun with Egypt.

Looking forward to the upcoming Fall season, Egypt and Andrew have plans to explore the local area.

The Power of Mentoring

The relationship between Egypt and Andrew exemplifies the power of mentoring. Egypt’s skills in sports have improved significantly, and with Andrew’s encouragement, his academic and reading abilities are also on the rise. Andrew shares,

“What I really appreciate about Egypt is how kind and caring he is. Whenever we hang out, wherever we go, Egypt makes a friend or says ‘hi’ to someone he knows. He makes everyone feel special and loved. Being Egypt's big brother has taught me to be kinder and more outgoing with everyone I meet.”
